More Recognition for Ezer Mizion - this Time by the Municipality of Jerusalem
On Israel's 60th Independence Day, Ezer Mizion was awarded the State's most coveted accolade, the Israel Prize, for Lifetime Achievement and Exceptional Contribution to the State and Society.
In addition, the Municipality of Jerusalem awarded two certificates of recognition to Chananya Chollak, the organization's International Chairman.
The first certificate was granted in honor of the 40th anniversary celebrations commemorating the liberation and unification of Jerusalem and the renewal of the prayers at the Western Wall (which was denied to Jews during the 19 years that Jordan occupied the Jewish people's holiest site). At the initiative of the Torah Culture Division of the Municipality, it was decided to recognize the dedication of the many volunteers who help to enhance the quality of life in the capital.
The certificate was awarded by Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupoliansky, at a special event held at the Binyanei HaUma International Convention Center, with the participation of Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Feiner, Director of the Torah Culture Division, members of the city council, spiritual leaders, ministers, MKs, and leading businessmen and community leaders. The award acknowledged the indelible mark Ezer Mizion and other chesed organizations have made on the city through their many volunteer activities for the public at large.
The second certificate was awarded to Chananya Chollak, Ezer Mizion's International Chairman, at the Jerusalem Conference for Parents, which was a separate event, in recognition of his monumental work.
The award recognized "his initiative and leadership in developing innovative and unique services at Ezer Mizion, for serving as an exemplar and model for sensitive social activity that respects every individual and every family, for establishing a national network of volunteerism and contribution in Israeli society."
The Jerusalem Conference for Parents certificate was also awarded by Mayor Lupoliansky, together with Ms. Vered Swid, Social Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister. |
