A Visit to the Shelah HaKadosh (06/08)

Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan
is a day that is auspicious for prayers to be accepted.

On erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan 1,400 Ezer Mizion volunteers traveled to the holy sites in Northern Israel to take advantage of this opportune time and to pray for their needs and for the welfare of their children, their families and the entire Jewish nation.

Ezer Mizion’s volunteers visited the cemetery in Tzefat and the kever of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron. They also visited the cemetery in Tiberias, with a special stop at the kever of the Shelah Hakadosh, where the renowned “Parent’s Prayer” that he composed was fervently recited.

The prayers of Yom Kippur Katan were recited at 5:00 PM Israel time at the kever of Rabbi Meir Baal Haness in Tiberias, with Chananya Chollak, Ezer Mizion’s International Chairman, leading the tefillah.

In response to our offer to daven, hundreds of requests poured in from all over the world, asking that tefillos be said for the needs of Jews everywhere.

The trip culminated with a lovely dinner, which the volunteers were treated to on the shores of the Kinneret. They returned home late that night recharged and inspired, reunited in our mission to help people face their challenges, with the hope that the heartfelt prayers of this special day will be speedily answered.
