Imagine a home in which 1000 people can mill about comfortably, greeting old friends and sharing their excitement with neighbors. Imagine a home in which fascinating food demonstrations, a lavish Chinese auction and a spectacular Kitchen Boutique can all be held simultaneously in full view of each other, separated only by stylishly elegant glass doorways.

Such was the newly built magnificent home of Albert and Sara Nigri on Thursday, July 10th.  The entire Syrian community was invited to come to the event of the summer, and come they did! Over a thousand women converged at the Nigri home to the annual Lottie's Kitchen Event, which is known as the much anticipated happening of the summer in Deal, to benefit Ezer Mizion's Lottie's Kitchen in Jerusalem.

Surrounded by the unparalleled décor of the Nigri home, guests were greeted graciously by Sara Nigri who had opened her lovely home on behalf of Lottie's Kitchen. The spacious atrium housed the Kitchen Boutique, a display of the latest in kitchen gadgets available for purchase by the intrigued guests. Attendees participated in the lavish Chinese auction including a BBQ package, a Mac Book computer and luxuriously striking jewelry.

Anxious to bring professionalism to their own kitchens, guests crowded around the exciting new food demonstrations presented by highly talented and gifted Deal residents and by Chef Adam Mimran, by Joy Pierson and Chef Jorge Pineda of Candle 79 and by Bravo TV's Top Chef winner, Chef Hung Huynh of Solo.

This year's bakery was filled with home-made cakes, cookies, challah as usual... along with the "latest": cake mixes created and packaged by the many volunteers. Just about everything in the bakery was sold out. The Lottie's Kitchen Cookbook was for sale, along with the supplement which included the recipes demonstrated at the event.

Circa of Lakewood, NJ added a touch of professional elegance in their attractively served lunches which, due to their popularity, were completely sold out by early afternoon. Lines were long as mothers anxiously awaited their turn for an individual portrait of their children by famed Susan Menashe. Bonnie Mansour provided inspiration of the day, giving her listeners tips on how to bring peace into their relationships, resulting in a happier and healthier lifestyle for all.

Enthusiastic comments filled the air as the crowd made its way towards the door after a wonderfully satisfying day. "Every year it gets better!" "This is an event I never miss!"

The guests' enjoyment and gratification were heightened from their enjoyment at a super nice day and from the understanding that their efforts and participation will make a real difference in the lives of their suffering brothers and sisters across the ocean, in Israel.
